DC+Entertainment+Hosts+Darkness+Light+Party+UyRroYexl3rlFor the last five years, DC’s flagship title Batman has been headed up by fan-favourite creative team Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. A while back it was reported that Capullo would end his run on the dark knight for a creator-owned title alongside Mark Millar. Once news broke that the single remaining original creative team on DC’s New 52 would be broken up, fans started to wonder whether Snyder would follow suit and leave the book.

Now Snyder has confirmed his intention to leave the title with April’s Batman #51. In a tweet on Twitter, Snyder wrote: “Truth: I’ve been delaying writing the last pages of Batman #51 – my final issue on the series & last comic w for 6 months.”

Snyder and Capullo has had a highly influential run on Batman for the past five years, starting their residency with Court of Owls, and following it up with several fan-favourite arcs. Fans of Snyder’s work with the masked billionaire can breathe a slight sigh of relief as Bleeding Cool has reported that he will move to Detective Comics, a series he wrote for before the New 52 relaunch in 2011. It has not been revealed exactly when Snyder’s new run on Detective Comics will begin, but it will likely happen following DC’s line re-launch in June.
